Tags

Davar4 can display and use more than plain text. In many cases, it is necessary to display Bible text with references, Strong #, Greek, Hebrew, translator's notes, etc.
Internally, the program uses a system of tags.


A Tag (similar to HTML tag) is a special mark, which describes a property of the text.
Tags can be paired or unpaired. You can get all the information about the use of tags in your texts from the Module Development Kit.

Here is a list of most important tags with a short description of each:

Latin text This tag is used for all Latin based texts in books or lexicons
Hebrew text This tag is used for Hebrew text in books or lexicons
Greek text This tag is used for Greek text in books or lexicons
Labels This is the tag of the labels to text in a book. It is displayed before text, for example Genesis 1:1
Words of Jesus This tag is for marking the words of Jesus Christ. In printed text, the words of Jesus are usually highlighted red.
Preface This tag is used in the (small) prefaces before a verse
Added Words This tag is used for words not in the original text, but implied. In the Bible they are usually in italics
Notes This tag is used for translator's notes, it is usually placed at the end of a verse
Variations of texts This tag is used when there are variations in 'original' texts, the program places text marked by this tag into ()
Reference This tag is used for any underlined references, e.g Genesis 1:1. After clicking the tag the program jumps to the referenced tag.
Hebrew Strong # This tag is used for Hebrew Strong #, underlined
Greek Strong # This tag is used for Greek Strong #, underlined
Hebrew morphology This tag is used for formatting Hebrew morphology
Greek morphology This tag is used for formatting Greek morphology
Hebrew gematria This tag is used to open gematrical value in lexicon of Hebrew gematria
Greek gematria This tag is used to open gematrical value in lexicon of Greek gematria
Qere / Ketiv variants This tag is used for Qere / Ketiv variants of Hebrew text (colored)
PDF reference This tag is used for link with external PDF file and opening document on specific page
URL reference This tag is used for link to URL. Open this URL in your default internet browser.
